Trade War: Let's Stand Together
President Trump has just declared a trade war on Canada, imposing a 25% tariff on our exports. In response, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that Canada will implement 25% retaliatory tariffs on $155 billion worth of U.S. goods, including products like alcohol, orange juice, clothing, appliances, lumber, and plastics.
It’s time for a Team Canada approach. We need to tear down interprovincial trade barriers that weaken our own economy. Why should it be easier to trade with the U.S. than between Alberta and Ontario? A stronger, united internal market will make Canada more resilient.
We must also diversify our trade partnerships to reduce our dependence on the U.S. And starting today, let’s all commit to one simple action: Buy Canadian. Look for the “Product of Canada” label whenever you shop. Every dollar spent on Canadian products supports our workers, strengthens our economy, and sends a clear message: Canada stands strong.
We are glad that Premier Danielle Smith is finally onboard and willing to work with the rest of Canada to defend our economic interests. United we are strong. United we will win.
Stand with us. Stand with Canada.
