Friday Focus: Party Updates
A lot has happened since the last Friday Focus.
Danielle Smith rolled out her bloated cabinet while at the same time managing to exclude a Minister for the Status of Women. The UCP is also going after municipal politicians, wanting to make them register as lobbyists. And our healthcare system continues to struggle.
This week, however, I want to focus on something more positive than Danielle Smith’s governance failures. I want to talk about some of the exciting things going on in the ALP.
First off is our upcoming policy convention. Albertans from across Alberta are bringing forward resolutions for debate at our policy convention on December 10th. If you’re interested in bringing a proposal forward yourself you have until November 3rd. You can learn more about the process here. I can’t wait to see the bright ideas Liberals like you will bring forward.
I’m also pleased to announce that we will be moving full-steam ahead with candidate nominations on Monday. I’ve had the pleasure to meet and talk with many interested candidates and I’m confident that we will put forward a strong slate in 2023. Look for our announcement on opening nominations in your inbox on Monday.
Lastly, I want to highlight that we are steadily gaining traction in the polls. Albertans are getting fed up with our polarized politics and are starting to come back to our party.
While the news on Alberta politics may seem dire, we continue to do good work in the Alberta Liberal party thanks to supporters like you. If you want to keep up the momentum then consider getting involved in our policy process and making a donation today.
Thank you for your continued support.
