    Prior to the event we encourage everyone to join Haley Brown, Federal Liberal candidate for Calgary-Midnapore, and her team for an hour or two of door knocking in the neighbourhood.

    Gillian is a Calgary author and journalist. She currently writes a regular column for the Toronto Star, teaches at Mount Royal University and University of Calgary, and is a PhD candidate in communication studies. Gillian was the managing editor at The Calgary Herald from 1987 to 1990, and was the publisher/editor of Alberta Views Magazine 2006/2007. In 2000 she co-authored with Kevin Taft "Clear Answers: The Economics and Politics of For-Profit Medicine". She has also authored two major reports on the impact of the recession on Calgarians. These reports were funded by several community groups including The Sheldon Chumir Foundation and the Canada West Foundation and were based on the findings of 15 focus groups. Gillian also wrote a major report for the Canadian Health Coalition and the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives after these organizations conducted public hearings across Canada about the need for a pharmacare program. Gillian is a winner of the $100,000 Atkinson Award for journalism.

    Alberta Liberal March Beer Bash

    If you like beer and politics then you need to be at O'Byrne's Irish Pub on March 1st for the Alberta Liberal Wednesday Beer Bash. 

    Liberals will be gathering to talk politics on everything from the Liberal leadership race to the unite the right movement to, inevitably, Donald Trump. There will also be a chance to flex your political know-how for Alberta Liberal Swag with our Alberta Political Trivia game!

    The Alberta Liberals are pleased to host their second annual International Women's Day Tea, to raise funds for future female candidates. 

    This year's event will be at the Royal Mayfair Golf and Country Club in Edmonton.

    Our guest speaker will be Sandra Woitas, who in 2004 was voted one of the ‘100 Edmontonians of the Century’ by The City of Edmonton. Sandra is a long time educator and tireless advocate for the needs of Edmonton’s most disadvantaged children and families. 



    Tickets are $50 and all proceeds from the event will go to support Liberal women candidates.
