Shirley Ksienski Calgary-Glenmore
My name is Shirley Ksienski. I am a Calgarian, raised in the southwest community of Kelvin Grove within Calgary Glenmore.
Earned degrees from then University of Calgary and Ryerson University. My working career began at General Motors CHQ, followed by a lengthy tenure in the pharmaceutical industry.
My advocacy skills began in 2008 when my child was diagnosed with autism. Very quickly I learned about the services and the educational curriculum for children with special needs. My focus was to help my child; I became a stay at home full-time caregiver.
In 2011 joined the Sinneave Family Foundation as a program assistant. I collaborated with the Haskayne School of Business MBA program in the development of a social enterprise Aut-2-Employ. Also worked with a team of bio-medical engineering and computer students in the creation of a communication App called Aut-2-Talk, which is available on Google Play.
