We invite you to join Leader David Khan and expert guest Sandra Azocar, Executive Director, Friends of Medicare, in a discussion on how life can and should be improved for seniors.
Seniors built this province, served our country in major conflicts, and raised families. They are our parents and grandparents. They deserve to live out their lives in comfort and with dignity. Sadly, too many live in poverty and in conditions that our society should be ashamed of.
The COVID-19 pandemic is adversely affecting the older demographic in many ways. Seniors are more susceptible to severe outcomes if they contract the virus and the vast proportion of COVID-19 deaths in Alberta is among those who are over 80 years old. Seniors have had to endure months of separation from their families as they isolate in either their own homes or in a variety of care facilities.
COVID-19 has exposed major failings in the system of care for the most vulnerable in our society, particularly the elderly. The system must change. We hope you will join us to share your experiences and ideas on how we can make life better for seniors.
