CALGARY, AB (October 25, 2014): Alberta Liberal candidate for Calgary-Elbow Susan Wright confirms her campaign has been approached by members of the Alberta Party seeking to make a backroom by-election deal.
“There was talk that they wanted to cut a deal to get us out of the race," says Wright. "The direct message we received on Twitter from Alberta Party campaign team member Marc Doll certainly lends credence to rumours they wanted to get me to drop out. It's very disappointing to see this sort of behaviour from a senior member of a party that speaks so piously about doing politics differently."
The Alberta Liberal candidates in the ridings of Calgary-West and Calgary-Foothills are David Khan and Robert Prcic.
“I am proud to have David Khan and Robert Prcic running under the Alberta Liberal banner in Calgary-West and Calgary-Foothills,” says Alberta Liberal Leader Raj Sherman. “These gentlemen will both speak with knowledge and passion on issues of vital importance to Albertans.”
David Khan practices Aboriginal Law across Western Canada. He has represented or assisted in the representation of clients at all levels of court in numerous Canadian jurisdictions, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
The Alberta Liberal candidate for Edmonton-Whitemud, Donna Wilson, says the PCs are clearly incapable of managing Alberta's health care system.
“The Misericordia Hospital is a potent symbol of the damage this old and tired PC government has done to our health care system,” says Wilson. “It is a disgrace that we have a hospital that cannot operate when it rains.
“Instead of wasting a quarter billion dollars on useless untendered contracts for friends and insiders, the PCs should have been figuring out how to replace this badly rundown hospital.”
