Karen Sevcik

My name is Karen Sevcik.  I am 50 years old.  I have been married for 20 years.  I am a mother of two beautiful girls Jane 17 and Sarah 11.  My family moved to Edmonton when I was 14.  We rented a little apartment on 149 Street and to this day I still live in west Edmonton.  I graduated from Jasper Place High School and went on to complete a Physical Education degree at the University of Alberta.  I was hired by the City of Edmonton Parks and Recreation Department in 1990.  In 1996 I become Shop Stewart for Civic Service Union Local 52.  I left the City in 1998 to raise my girls.

I began volunteering for political campaigns in 1986 when a young, upstart Liberal by the name of Grant Mitchell knocked on our door and I’ve been campaigning ever since.
