Strathmore-Brooks

Gerry Hart

“The residents of Strathmore-Brooks deserve to be heard and represented in government.  We need to encourage diversity in the economy, balanced with the needs and safety of individuals and families – ensuring sustainability of jobs, resources, and the environment for future generations.” - Gerry Hart

Gerry has lived in Alberta for five decades, attending schools in both Medicine Hat and Lethbridge. A Certified Management Accountant, Gerry has almost 30 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. He is currently the IT Manager for TAQA North.

Gerry has been an active member of his community for a number of years. He has been President, Treasurer and a caregiving volunteer for the SHARP Foundation, volunteered for 6 years for the AGAPE Hospice, spent 4 years as a fund development volunteer for Connections Counselling.  In 2005, he was awarded the Alberta Centennial Medal, and he is currently the Treasurer of the Alberta Liberal Party.

When asked about the most pressing issues facing Strathmore-Brooks, Gerry highlights his concern for the long term sustainability of our province.  “Rapid growth has been a challenge in all communities in Alberta,” he explains. “We need a plan so that we have affordable housing for all families, and we also need to ensure we are good stewards of the environment.”
