Sandeep Dhir has a definite talent for organizing and maintaining personal relationships.  He and his team packed a community hall (standing room only) for his acclamation as the Alberta Liberal candidate for Edmonton – Manning, proving that he is more than capable of organizing to win a very competitive constituency.

Sandeep grew up and went to primary and secondary school in Calgary.  He went on to attend Mount Royal College and then received his BA from Augustana University College in Camrose.  He completed graduate studies in history at the University of Alberta and then his law degree from the University of Saskatchewan.

He is currently working as a lawyer and is a Partner at a major Alberta law firm.  Sandeep’s political experience includes university training in political science, being elected President of the Law Students’ Association at the U of S (1998-99) and three years as President of the Edmonton – Calder Alberta Liberal Association.

In the community Sandeep has been President and board member for the Edmonton Inner-City Housing Society, as well as a board member for the Theatre Network (The Roxy) and a Member of the Equality, Equity and Diversity Committee of the Law Society of Alberta.

When asked about issues affecting his constituency, Sandeep suggests that Edmonton – Manning needs a provincial government that gets As in three key areas:  Affordable housing, Accessible education and Accountable government.

Sandeep is married to Dr. Sandra Rein, a political science professor at the U of A.
