Dunvegan-Central Peace

Bob Woken

“I’ve lived in the Peace Country for over 40 years, and I entered politics because I want to bring some much-needed positive change to the people and area I love so much.” – Bob Woken

Bob Woken is a retired farmer and former teacher who lives in Rycroft. He has a B.Sc from Minot State University in North Dakota. According to Bob, the best move he ever made was relocating to Canada, and the Peace Country, from the United States 40 years ago.

For over 25 years, Bob has been on the board of directors for the Rycroft Agricultural Society, where he was once named “Volunteer of the Year.” He has also served on the board of the Woking Skating Rink Association.

Bob wants to act on a number of issues. Fixing health care, re-regulating electricity, protecting Alberta’s water resources, rural development, and democratic renewal are all issues Bob wants to address in the Legislature.

Even though Bob is retired and rents out most of his farm, he still has 15 acres for himself where you’ll find berry bushes and bird sanctuaries. He also raises milk goats for sale and reads avidly – mostly fiction and poetry. He has three children and one grandchild.
