Ron Hancock

“Alberta has been victimized by bad government for far too long. This province has so much potential, but it needs a government that listens to the people and respects their desires. As an MLA, I promise to help usher in a new era of change and respect for the average Albertan.” - Ron Hancock

Ron Hancock is a senior tax specialist and tax instructor with a long history of public service. After earning his Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Alberta, Ron began a distinguished career with the provincial government in various roles as an economic specialist.

During his time with the government, Ron was the chief economist for the Alberta Housing Corporation; a development officer in the Crowsnest Pass, where he spearheaded efforts to encourage greater regional participation among neighbouring communities; and manager of rural business initiatives for Alberta Economic Development, where he wrote a textbook on rural development, Communities on the Grow, which is still in use today.

Ron has also served for three years as a member of the Raymond Town Council and eight years as chairman of the Chinook Health Region Community Health Council on Seniors Issues.

After cancer claimed the life of his first wife, Ron married his high-school sweetheart, Deanne.  They make their home in Raymond.
