“I strongly believe that Calgary-West deserves a voice in the Alberta Legislature that is consultative, caring, empathetic, and motivated to actively participate in the community as a local leader.” - Beth Gignac

Beth Gignac, Calgary-West
Beth brings a wide array of skills and experiences to the table that will serve her well as she works in the interests of her constituents in Calgary-West. With a Bachelor of Arts in Drama from the University of Windsor, and a Certificate in Arts Management from the Banff Centre for the Arts, she describes herself as an artist, singer/songwriter, actor and even onetime dancer until (she sadly admits) her “knees went south”.
As Manager for the Arts in Mississauga, she was attracted to Alberta in 2006 to fulfill the position of Manager of Arts and Culture for the City of Calgary. Beth has had a busy past 5 years, as she has also served as the Director for Parks and Recreation Ontario, and the President and Director for the Creative City Network of Canada. Beth has embraced her new city with open arms, becoming involved with the Calgary Peleton Project and serving on the board of the Ghost River Theatre Company. An avid fan of the outdoors, Beth enjoys using her spare time to explore Alberta through hiking, running, cycling, and photography.
Beth eagerly anticipates the opportunity to represent Calgary-West in the Legislature, citing the need for improved access to health care, education and sustainable planning as the key issues facing Albertans today.
