Dale Martin D’Silva, Calgary-North West
Dale D’Silva is a candidate with energy, vigor and a deep commitment to an Alberta that balances growth with the needs of all citizens. He is driven by his abiding belief that development can be sustainable with careful planning and policy making.
Dale was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan where he studied electronic systems engineering at the University of Regina. Ten years ago, he moved to Calgary to accept a position with a military communications system company. Like so many before him, Dale discovered a passion for the mountains and for Calgary’s green areas. It was that passion, that desire to maintain the quality of these environments, which led him to the volunteer for the Sierra Club and the Clean Calgary Association.
His love of the environment and his interest in social justice led him away from his engineering career and toward his current profession. Dale operates a Calgary-based real estate development business which aims to design environmentally friendly and socially conscious communities.
Dale has entered politics because he believes the future of Alberta is at stake. The current government is squandering our children’s future because it lacks a long term plan and a vision for sustainable development.
This is a critical moment in our city and in our province. The boom has brought with it unprecedented wealth and growth. It has not brought a better health care system, an improved education system or an improved environment. Instead we are plagued with skyrocketing housing costs, homelessness and urban sprawl.
Dale believes that the time has come for a new generation of leaders. The time has come for leaders with vision and the ability to see that we can have both a clean environment and economic growth.
