Bill Kurtze’s extensive management experience in the oil and gas sector is experience with a key component of Alberta’s economy, and makes him uniquely qualified to contribute to a balanced resource revenue policy for Albertans.

Bill was born and raised in Regina Saskatchewan.  He has a BA and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Saskatchewan.  He has lived in the city of Calgary for the past thirty-five years.

He has thirty years of experience in the oil and gas sector, 15 years as Managing Director with the Propane Gas Association of Canada, 5 years as VP of an Alberta based junior oil and gas company and five years as Manager of the Independent Petroleum Association of Canada.  He has been a regular speaker at numerous hydrocarbon conferences on a variety of issues across North America.

His experience with the business of government comes from appearing before many provincial, federal and United States committees and agencies on a variety of oil and gas issues (including environmental, safety and transportation).

When asked about the most important issues in Calgary-Hays, he identifies core services such as education, health care and environmental protection.  He’d also like to propose solutions to the growing labour shortage in Alberta and restore the democratic health of the province by addressing growing voter apathy.

He is married to Margaret and they have two children and two grandchildren.
