Karen Charlton’s Biography

Karen Charlton was born in High River and has been a resident of Medicine Hat for forty-five years.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services and is the manager of Social Development for the City of Medicine Hat.  She is the former President of the Canadian Child Care Federation. 

Karen has been involved with numerous community groups, including United Way and the National Board of Canadian Housing and Renewal Association.  She has been nominated twice for Business Woman of the Year and is the recipient of the Early Childhood Services Award.  Karen was the School Board Trustee for twelve years. 

Karen has been happily married to Barry for thirty-one years.
