Glenn Rollans is a partner (since 1999) in Les Éditions Duval / Duval House Publishing, one of Canada’s few independent educational resources publishers.
Before joining Duval House, he was Director of the University of Alberta Press (1995 to 1999), Editor-in-Chief of Lone Pine Publishing (1993-1995), manager of his own communications business (1991-1993) and a senior manager with the Ex Terra Foundation (1987 to 1991). While also working as a publisher, he co-directed the Business of Publishing program at the University of Chicago (1996 to 2000), and directed the Banff Publishing Program at the Banff Centre (1997 to 2002). As a writer since 1975, he has book, magazine, television, video, radio and exhibit credits.
Glenn co-chairs Access Copyright, Canada’s national copyright licensing collective, where he has been on the board since 1996. For 9 of the years since 1993 he has sat on the board of the Book Publishers Association of Alberta, including three years as president. He currently sits as Vice-President. Glenn served as the Treasurer of the Alberta Cultural Industries Association from 1996 to 2002.
From 1988 to 1996 Glenn was a member of the board of the Edmonton Basketball Association. From 1984 to 1987 he was a member of the board of the Ex Terra Foundation. From 1979 to 1991 Glenn was a member of the board, including chair, of the Banff International Affairs Summer School Society.
Glenn is an alumnus of the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Arts, the Radcliffe Publishing Procedures Course at Harvard University, and the Banff Centre for the Arts.
Glenn joined the Alberta Liberals in 2000. He worked in communications for Kevin Taft’s Edmonton-Riverview campaign in 2001, his leadership campaign in 2003 and 2004, and his Edmonton-Riverview campaign in 2004. He also worked in communications with the ALP provincial campaign in 2004.
