Dr. Avalon Roberts Nominated in Calgary-Glenmore
The Alberta Liberals have nominated Avalon Roberts as their candidate for the upcoming Calgary-Glenmore by-election. At the only contested nomination meeting among all the political parties for this by-election, the Alberta Liberals voted for Avalon Roberts as their candidate to run for the seat vacated by former Deputy Premier Ron Stevens. Alberta Liberal Leader Dr. David Swann congratulated Roberts on her successful nomination. “Thank you to both candidates for putting their names forward. Statement from David Swann on Name Change
“On April 25, after four months of consideration, I announced that the Party will not be changing its name. Thank you to everyone for giving their input and opinions. I wanted to put everything ‘on the table’ and it is time now to move on and focus on our primary objectives - strengthening the Alberta Liberals and holding this stale Stelmach government accountable! Therefore, while the Renewal Commission will continue its work, it will not consider any name change further.
