Affordable Student Housing an Alberta Liberal Priority

As Post-Secondary students across Alberta return to school, many are finding it difficult to find affordable housing. Post-Secondary students, due to the high cost and length of their programs, are one of the groups adversely affected by the affordable housing crisis.

Alberta students deserve the best learning experience and Kevin Taft’s Alberta Liberals are committed to making this a reality.

The Alberta Liberal Plan to create more affordable student housing:

- Temporary rent caps
- Moratorium on conversions of rental properties to condominiums
- Creating more secondary suites (ie: Basement suites)
- Adjusting student loans to keep up with inflation
- Reducing or eliminating property taxes on student residences
