Mr. Grant Dunlop, President

Alberta Liberal Party

10247 – 124 Street

Edmonton, Alberta T5N 1P8

Dear Grant,

I am writing to inform you and the Alberta Liberal Party that I will be stepping down as Leader.  Having held this position for more than four years, and through two general elections, I feel it is time for someone else to bring their energy, skills, and commitment to the job.  I am prepared to step down at any time, but do not wish to stay on as Leader later than the end of January, 2009.

Holding this position is a great privilege and responsibility, and I have enjoyed it immensely.  Thank you to all members of the Alberta Liberal Party for their confidence and support.  Please be assured that I will remain as MLA for Edmonton-Riverview.  I believe as strongly as ever that our Alberta Liberal policies and principles are worth fighting for.

Yours truly,

Kevin Taft, Leader
