Background
David Swann, Leader of the Alberta Liberal Party, is in the process of setting up a “Renewal Committee” to establish terms of reference for a thorough renewal process - topics, timelines and budget - and also to recommend a process for the membership to consider, among other things, branding and the Party name. The committee is requested to present its initial report within 30 days of its establishment. Mo Elsalhy, a former Edmonton MLA has agreed to lead this process. The next step is the appointment of the four other committee members.
The details of the consultation process will be determined by the committee, but it is anticipated that submissions will be sought in writing, in person and through an on line discussion. All Albertans, ALP members or not, will be able to participate in this dialogue, so feel free to pass this on to others who share your desire for a stronger, more competitive democracy in Alberta.
