David Gamble, BA, MA (UNBC), MA (UWO)
WRITER | EDUCATOR | ARTS | AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVOCATE
David is originally from British Columbia, growing up near Vancouver. He is a former board member of the Single Onion – Calgary’s longest-running spoken word series – and a board director at CSHO, a non-profit seeking to promote attainable housing initiatives. Support for the arts and affordable housing are at the forefront of his concerns, when seeking to champion issues in the legislature.
As a past technical writer for Talisman Energy and a business analyst for Pembina Pipeline, David has an appreciation of the natural resource sector. Alberta’s energy sector is significant to our economy and the driver of our short- to medium-term prosperity.
David is also an educator. Having been an instructor at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) and at Northwest Community College and a CRLA certified writing tutor, the value of education to David is clear and the need to support public investment in our post-secondary system is of utmost importance.
Lee Yee Gamble has been his spouse for over 10 years. They met at university and are expecting their first child later this year.
David earned a BA in English Literature from UNBC, followed by an MA in Interdisciplinary Studies, also from UNBC. He began a PhD, but earned a second MA from the University of Western Ontario in English Literature. Poor job prospects to teach English in Canadian universities and colleges led to this decision. David has articles published in the journal BC Studies and the Scroll Press Literary Journal.
David is a small businessman and is the President and CEO of Dandly, a technical writing, communications, and consulting company based in Calgary, Alberta.
