The NDP government just released a budget with a projected deficit of $6.5 Billion in fiscal 2015-2016. At this rate, Alberta could accumulate up to $37Billion in debt as a result of this deficit spending. While the Alberta Liberals applaud them for not going after the front line services Albertan's rely on, we have long argued we need to get off the royalty roller coaster that ties our services and financial health as a province to the price of oil. This may mean an PST, or a different income tax structure. Either way, we want to have a mature conversation with Albertans about the future of revenue in our province.
