Ali originally hails from Pakistan and moved to Canada in 2006. After graduating from the University of Waterloo with a degree in Electrical Engineering, he moved to Calgary three years ago and has been living in Calgary-Foothills ever since.
Currently, he is working in the software industry and is also a certified PMP; a skill he thinks can translate well into politics.
"Running a province is a project. One of the biggest issues we have here is the gross mismanagement of public funds. And that directly affects our healthcare and education systems," he says.
Ali wants to be the people's voice and, for that reason, has decided to stand up against the Premier. When asked what his motivation for the next election is, Ali replied, "Albertans deserve better. They want change and I want to be the change they deserve."
